My favorite time killer on the PC is now available only on the Amazon Appstore for Android, finally a game to tear us away from Angry Birds. Most of you know the drill but if you never played this game your in for some fun.

The zombies are coming and for some reason they are hell bent on getting through your backyard and into your home. You start out with several weapons to stop them by placing them in your yard, most fire automatically and a few are triggered by the player. As the levels progress you meet newer more dangerous zombies but you also gain bigger and badder weapons.

The game takes place on one screen, there is no scrolling. The zombies come from your right and you have to stop them before they reach the house. You grab coins that randomly drop from the sky and purchase and place weaponry as soon as you can pay for it. It takes some patience to wait for enough money to place a more expensive weapon when you can put up a cheaper one but sometimes that can make all the difference.

The zombies are really fun and cool looking and there are little biographies you can read about each weapon and different type of foe, some of the bios are hilarious. these developers certainly have a sense of humor. Its published by Popcap games and if you ever played games on the PC chances are you've played one of theirs. They are a powerhouse on the web and if they keep porting their work to Android then the Iphone users will have one less advantage over us.

I rarely purchase apps and when I do its only to get a game for my daughter that isn't free. Plants VS. Zombies is an easy decision and its on sale for $1.49 now at Amazon. Check out the cool music video they made about the game, its had over a million views on YouTube. Enjoy!
